A Greenhouse Seeds drop is the cannabis seed equivalent of Christmas come early. And while we don’t condone celebrations commencing in November, we are absolutely in favour of treating yourself to early presents when the presents are as stunning as these ones. Anything that rolls out of Greenhouse Seeds‘ factory (which we assume isn’t stacked with elves) has an automatic rubbermark of pristine quality, and this latest batch are no different.

Highly unique from one an another, each strain utilises its genetics to full effect, isolating the best parts of its parentage and yet still iterating on those things to create something wholly new and equally exciting. The variety on show here is such that this new drop will likely cater to a variety of tastes – though if you’re greedy like us, you’ll want to sample the whole bunch before picking favourites.

Dark Phoenix

https://chosenseeds.com/product/dark-phoenix/

The Dark Phoenix Saga, one of the most iconic runs in comic history, is an X-Men tale that is packed with action, verve, and incredible amounts of fire. Greenhouse Seed’s Dark Phoenix is no different. While the THC content would point to a high as devastating as Cyclops’ optic beams, its effect is surprisingly layered, pushing you more towards feelings of relaxation, euphoria, and enhanced creativity. And while it’s still unlikely your brain will expand to the dizzying size of Professor X’s grey matter, the quality of the terp profile (mixing in notes of pine, earth, lemon, haze and spice) will have you chugging spliffs like Logan chews cigars. Add in the fact she’s a resilient grow, solid yielder with a height that rivals a sentinel, and you’ve got yourself a superpowered strain. If you are completely unfamiliar with X-Men and have been wondering what the fuck we’re talking about this entire paragraph, don’t worry, this won’t happen again. Well, it might, but by then you’ll have forgotten about it like Wolverine did his traumatic past.

Holy Snow

https://chosenseeds.com/product/holy-snow/

Just in time for the festive season, Holy Snow comes bearing gifts – gifts aplenty. Borne from a desire to combine the brilliant of Hawaiian Snow with the final creation from the dearly missed Franco, Holy Punch, Holy Snow aimed to reduce the growing time along with the size to maximise its indoor growth potential. As you’d expect with a Greenhouse Seeds’ creation, they hit the mark with aplomb. First, the smell – there’s a sweet, fruity base from the Holy Punch that throws up all sorts of citric notes, underpinned by spicy sativa hints and even some hits of moss and wood. When you combine that delicious, iconic frying onions smell from the Hawaiian Snow, you stumble into a cacophony of warring tastes and sensations that somehow manage to coalesce into something absolutely extraordinary palette-wise. Those sativa genetics are utilised beautifully here, too, assuring that the cultured terp profile is accompanied by a noteworthy, shareworthy high.

Jack’s Dream

https://chosenseeds.com/product/jacks-dream/

Another inspired cross from the Greenhouse Seeds back catalogue, Jack’s Dream is a sturdy, aesthetically standout plant that balances a great terpene experience with a relaxing yet powerful high. Building on the legacy of Jack Herer and the variety of plus points that brings, it also makes the most of its A.M.S. parentage, AKA Greenhouse Seeds’ most resilient strain, to create a package as solid as it is spectacular. Speaking of spectacular, the aroma that wafts from this vibrant strain is akin to walking through a millennia-old forest, throwing notes of pine tree sap and earth at you from the jump. Its short flowering time – 8-9 weeks – is an obvious boon, and yet it sacrifices little in other areas, offering a mind-melting potential THC level of 25% for your pleasure. The high is a delicate, interesting one, the type that feels like your feet have been taken from under you while simultaneously lulling you into a sense of extreme serenity.

Velvet Moon

https://chosenseeds.com/product/velvet-moon/

Yet another iteration based in part on the last strain of Franco’s tenure on this earth (that man’s influence will last a while, won’t it?) Velvet Moon crosses the iconic Dosidos with Loja’s swansong strain Holy Punch. What emerged from this union is a resilient, hardy plant that still manages to find time to be utterly transfixing, with its midnight-dark leaves flecked with vibrant strands of deep orange. Its terp profile combines the best of its mum and dad; the matured, fruity notes of Holy Punch with the acidy, citrussy hits of Dosidos. Its the type of smoke that lingers on the tongue, just like the high will in your memory: a happy, uplifting buzz that rarely hits as superbly as this. Throw in a decent to excellent flowering time and characteristics that make this perfect for both indoor and outdoor grows, and you’ve got a versatile strain with a little bit of history attached to it too.

Amnesia

https://chosenseeds.com/product/amnesia-8/

There aren’t many more iconic strains than Ammy, and it’s not hard to see why. Famed for its high THC content (as the name might suggest), it’s seen many, many iterations over the years, and Greenhouse Seeds’ stab at the classic may be one of our all time favourites. It does a stunning job of balancing its sativa and indica tendencies, offering a challenging, layered high that hits the body as much as it does the head; a long-lasting, physical buzz that inspires creativity and calm. Its parentage of Super Silver Haze x Afghan should give you an idea of the type of experience to expect, but there’s no substitute to experiencing it first-hand – trust us. The terpene profile is as cultured as the high, too, offering up distinct citrusy notes along with hits reminiscent of freshly pressed olive oil, which in turn is complemented by a hazy, nutty aftertaste. A wonderful strain that builds on an already storied legacy, Greenhouse Seeds’ interpretation of Amnesia is a fantastic addition to their stable.
